Now, before I ask this question I want to say that I love the United States of America and I love Americans.

It is inscrutable to me as to why Brits and Americans squabble so pettily on this site.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask, do you think the United Kingdom has done well in terms of boxing over the years considering that our nation is far smaller than Texas?

Personally, I think we have had a decent amount of boxing World Champions, but we could have done better seeing how popular boxing is here.

The British have done ok. Particularly of late. Lewis, Calzaghe, Hatton, now Haye. Plus a bunch of decent looking prospects.

not very good fight to boast about. Hopkins made Calzaghe look like an amatuer in a fight where there was no CLEAR winner. You could have at least chosen the Lacy fight. But lets get real here, Calzaghe isn't going to fight America's best. I commend Hatton for doing so though. He went at Floyd and Paulie Malignaggi. He is a fighter you can be proud of.

But outside of Calzaghe and Hatton, who else do you have? Who else is "kicking American arses"? Junior Witter? Gary Lockett?

I am a proud Englishman and also a proud British man, but this is just pathetic.

America was founded by Englishmen and our two nations have so much more in common than any other two nations on the planet.

Thats your opinion, Calzaghe won a clear UD for me so its not an issue.
Calzaghe has beaten Bernard and hes sure better than Chad Dawson, Tarver etc
Bernard was the best and made Kelly Pavlik look like a amateur with downsyndrome.

Considering the UK is so small compared to other countries in the world and we have arguably the best fighter on the planet today is something the brits should be proud off.
