    Great news for boxing fans

Thought everyone here would be happy to hear this.

Golden Boy now attempts to replenish their promotional stable. One of their first priorities is establish a regular series to develop their fledgling prospects.

"We are currently looking at different television partners to do a monthly show from right across the street here, the Nokia Theater," said Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer this past week. "And so we're currently talking to three different television partners and we’ll see what we can do. But we do have a principle deal with AEG."

ESPN is said to be one of the networks that Schaefer is referring to. AEG, which owns the Staples Center and the sprawling new LA Live facility that includes the Nokia Theater
I hear that TV-Azteca could be stepping up to fill the void left by the cancellation of 'Solo Boxeo' on Telefutura

That's great. It's also great that GBP's deal with HBO for a certain amount of dates in the future could be crumbling.

HBO needs to buy fights not fighter or promoters, this is good because it will be on basic cable and it will be mostly prospects.

Also the bigger good news is TV Azteca filling that void Telefutura is leaving on network.

Yeah, next year could be a very good year for boxing if GBP can secure a show that features only prospects, hopefully in good fights plus with TV Azteca and Versus stepping up their boxing programming along with the usual ESPN Friday Night Fights and Shobox, boxing could be getting some pretty good exposure.

That's a real nice line up right there, I hope boxing keeps dying.
