I'm not sure if I believe what Joe says about the Bika fight though.

I know Joe fights to the level of his opposition, but I actually believe that to be Joe's toughest fight that I have seen in all honesty.

He didn't really hurt Joe Calzaghe but Joe Calzaghe was dog tired at the end. Like the Eubank Fight.

Against Kessler, Hopkins and pretty much anyone else he's fought Joe looked like he could have done another 3 rounds no problem whatsover.

I still don't know what this hype about froch is, he beat pascal in a competitive fight. Didn't the guy Pascal fight before froch knock Pascal on his ass or some ****. Why couldn't froch? And why is froch's defense like non-existent? It's like he never ever fought as an amateur and learned that it is not smart to get punched in the face over time, because sooner or later it will add up.

I'd love to have seen him fight Benn. Collins pulled out, of course, and has since gone on record to say he was pretty much scared of Calzaghe.

          Benn-Calzaghe = brutal tear up!

Agreed completely. Bika is a strong bastard, man. Quite limited, but damn he's like a bull coming at you and will pull any dirty trick to try and beat you.

Hopkins barely landed any punches because he clinched Calzaghe like the whole fight. And Calzaghe barely landed alot of his shots because the ref Joe Cortez let Hopkins hold like the entire fight. Some one on here said they checked that fight out and hopkins initiated 163 clinches. I don't know how Hopkins wasn't penalized for it.

the only good thing about calz' record is that he's undefeated, other than that nothing about it jumps out at you

joe as nervous for that fight he said that he had lost a lot of weight before the fight just because of adrenaline, it took its toll on him late on in the fight, and that was the first time that joe went 12 rounds as well (i think).

imo if you were to take all of his opponents and stick them into a tournament then kess would probably win, joe that night came across something that he has never come across since and probably never will again. a man that he could not bully, a fighter who he could not dominate, like any real champ though he found another gear and pulled out the W.

the timing for that fight was spot on for joe, if it had come a year earlier or later imo he would have lost.

That was me who counted the clinches. As if the fight isn't painful enough to watch in normal speed, try doing it TWICE in super slow motion. LOL.

I forget the exact figure, but I think it's over 150. Somehow I arrived at the number 163. I might not be exact, but close enough, and I am not gonna do that again just to be sure!

Drastic contrast: Kessler clinched only 3 times. Once when he was hurt by Calzgahe, and two other times.

Beautifully clean, tidy boxer. Mikkel rules. Calzaghe clinched a whole lot more than Mikkel, but nowhere near the amount of Hopkins.
