If Mayweather returns, who's the number 1 P4P king?

Before Mayweather announced his retirement about 6 months ago he was recognized as the P4P kingpin of the sport. Now that he is retired, Manny Pacquiao is considered the P4P king. Let's not forget that before Mayweather retired, many experts placed Manny in the number 3 or 4 position in the P4P rankings just behind Cotto or Calzaghe, while JMM usually landed one slot behind Pacquiao. What has happened since then? Margarito knocked out Cotto (widely recognized as the number 2 p4p at the time behind Mayweather), Calzaghe dismantled Roy Jones Jr, (once the undisputed p4p king, way past his prime though), and Marquez stepped up a division and knocked out Joel Casamayor (Universally recognized as the "Real" lightweight champion at the time) and Pacquiao TKO'd De La Hoya (one of the all time greats but also way past his prime). So if Mayweather returns is he automatically back to Number 1? If not then was Manny's win over a faded De La Hoya really enough to put him in front of the pack, even though before this win he was widely recognized as the number 3 or 4 in p4p rankings and why? ( everyone should have something to say on this subject and i'd like to read everyones opinion so please Post!)

Pac, until Mayweather fights and demonstrates whether the layoff has hurt him.

Well if Mayweather returns he would be fighting the current P4P king and wouldn't be ranked until after the fight.

well no one ever beat mayweather and the only thing that manny did to get his p4p title is beat de la hoya which mayweather did to a much bigger and one year younger de la hoya? so why shouldn't he be placed back to number 1? i'm not arguing cuz i'm not even a mayweather fan but i'm just trying to make a point.. so what u think about that?

pac was #1 p4p before he koed delahoya... and and mayweather shouldnt even be ranked because he retired from the sport. maybe you can rank his legacy to all the other retired boxers.

Pac was #1 p4p way before his win over DLH. PBF passed that moniker on to Pac when he quit. And at this point, Pac's takin on all comers>PBF's dodgin WW challengers and he likely woulda surpassed him anyway.

why would the p4p status change just because floyd came out of retirement, unless floyd actually beat manny, no

Pacman will remain no.1 p4p. And he will be for years to come. A return of Floyd would change nothing.
