Just like he showed against Pavlik? Roach doesn't deserve all the blame for the gameplan flaws in that fight (Hopkins had been fighting in a similar way for awhile), but he didn't do much to help either. I don't think his presence was positive or negative, just neutral with little impact. Which was my point. Perhaps he tries to influence them too much, when they're already largely self-directed, or perhaps he fails to have any influence. One really can't say.Comment

that's what i said.
look at pacquiao back then and pacquiao now.
tell me roach is overrated.
he MADE a nobody into the #1 p4p fighter in the world.Comment

sometimes old fighters find fights that they can win and look like their old self.
then other times they can train their hardest and come out like **** in the fight.Comment

Roger Mayweather is a great mitt-man. Floyd is basically self-trained, and Floyd Sr. deserves what credit there is for developing him. They are a great match now, but largely because they have good synergy and Roger doesn't try to interject himself overmuch. He performs the physical role that Floyd needs to complete his routine, and probably little else (other than moral support).Comment

Where did the word prime come from? There's a large difference between "finished" and "prime". You also completely ignored my primary example, that of Vasquez, who is not old but certainly a veteran.Comment
