Day before the fight weighin is what we usually do. why make a special case for PBF?
It's "unofficial" because if they weighed what they did on fight-night, it wouldn't be a legit fight...147 fight to be exact...as well as it being authorized by the commission/state. It's HBO scales.

So ? When did Roach get to change the rules anyway.its not a guarantee. unlike an official weighin before the fight.
I really dont trust HBO regarding the "supposed" weights of fighter come fight time.

Sorry Benny........ I just dont get why you really care what weight they come in at fight night. As long as they weighed within the agreed limits the day before its theyre prerogative how much they wanna weigh come fight night. Do you think this prefight weighin somehow gives an unfair advantage to Pacquiao?

For a fighter that is 32, close to 33 by the time the fight would happen....and has been inactive close to two years (by the time the fight would happen), and hasn't had to diet to make weight in a while...yeah.

listent to Freddie: Time 5:45 and continue on and listen to his thoughts on Margarito...and weight. There is a joke in there from Freddie at 7:50 {Time}. I don't think the interviewer got it.

Why can't they just make the fight at 147 if both have already fought at 147?

Listen to this as well about weight: Time, 1:15 start

                    (B) because its unusual and unofficial, more controversies could arise from doing so......which we all dont want to happen

Floyds fighting a tuneup fight right? So i dont see your point really? its not like pac is gonna bulk up to 170.

Well, we don't even know if Floyd is really coming back.

And the other; just make the fight at WW and we won't have much problem. Both fighters have already fought at WW and Floyd doesn't balloon up by fight-time like many others.

No need to make him diet down and worry about making weight during training camp.

Freddie's strategy is always to take away something from a fighter even before he steps into the ring. I understand it, but in a way, it is like stealing the greater victory.

Freddie already has his advantage for Pac: Floyd is 32 years old and would be closing in on 33 near the fight. He hasn't looked good in some time and has been more inactive than Manny (who has looked great).
