I truly don't think Pacquiao is going to be desperately seeking a fight with Mayweather. The Mayweather camp will at like its MANNY who has to go through hoops for Mayweather, but I got the feeling the Pacquiao camp is blase blase(?) about this fight. If it happens, it happens, if not, they got Hatton and Marquez.

Pacman wants money and if Mayweather wants the fight then pacman/Team pacman would want the fight not only for the payday but also the chance to be the first man to beat Mayweather which would top anything anyone would have done recently.

Yes he could go for Hatton...easier fight/big payday but he Marquez doesnt really bring anything to the table apart from another difficult night for pacman.

Then Floyd can stay retired and live happily ever after. He is retired so Manny would have to attract him back, this is the BIGGEST fight for Manny by a wide margin. If Manny really wants to prove he is the best of this generation of fighters he needs to beat Mayweather, because if he beats Mayweather which would be a crazy ass win he really cements himself very very high in the history of boxing. Yea he is high up now, and you could argue he is the best of this generation now, but if he beats Mayweather is ther really any question about it.
