At 140 it would be a great match up but at 147, i think pac would struggle.

To be honest though for this fight to be as big as it can be it really needs some time to bake in the oven.
pac-hatton is very good oven to roost this fight...

Manny should enter the ring in Filipino warrior gear with the kali sticks.

oscar was ranked #1 only for 1 year.

tito was never ranked higher than #2.

i don't know their respective rankings at the time of their fight though.

Recently every "major" fight has been either 2 has beens fighting each other like Roy/Trinidad or 1 great fighter fighting a has been like Roy/Calzaghe etc.

This is the first fight where there are no excuses and the only fight I can think of, maybe in history(?) where both fighters are arguably ranked #1 P4P in the world. There is zero excuses other than that Pac is coming up in weight but that's offset by the fact that Floyd has been inactive so it cancels each other out.

So is this the first truly GREAT perfect no excuse match up of the past 10-30 years where both fighters are truly vying for the #1 P4P and best fighter on earth reputation?

i think it would be, especially if its a close fight, the matchup is definatly one of the best in 20 years but depending on how the actual fight ends up, we could have the greatest rivalry since the robinson, carmen and jake era. i hope the fight comes off and is a close and has contraversy so we can have them go at it a few time, fights like that can bring some much needed intrest back to boxing. they could be some wars if pac has gotten as good as it looks, but everybody looks fast running by themselfs, its a whole different story when youre racing against someone else. this is definatly the best matchup in 20 years, it has everything you need for a mega fight, i just hope the actual fight is as good as it looks on paper

You never know, Heans-Leonard 1 was arguably a bigger fight then Duran-Leonard 1. Hagler-Leonard was a huge fight that was years in the making. Tito-DLh was hige aswell. In term of boxing history legacy type **** Floyd-Pacman is probably the best we can do to come close to those type of fights (lots of drama, both leading up to the fight and inside the ring).

Pac looked strong and fast at 147.

I think it's an ideal weight for both fighters to come in at considering their natural fighting weights.
