Mayweather vs. Pac Greatest Matchup in over 20-30 years?

This is the first matchup of recent memory in decades where both fighters are absolutely 100% in their prime and both are ranked #1 P4P IN THE WORLD.

Recently every "major" fight has been either 2 has beens fighting each other like Roy/Trinidad or 1 great fighter fighting a has been like Roy/Calzaghe etc.

This is the first fight where there are no excuses and the only fight I can think of, maybe in history(?) where both fighters are arguably ranked #1 P4P in the world. There is zero excuses other than that Pac is coming up in weight but that's offset by the fact that Floyd has been inactive so it cancels each other out.

So is this the first truly GREAT perfect no excuse match up of the past 10-30 years where both fighters are truly vying for the #1 P4P and best fighter on earth reputation?

Both undefeated, both p4p, both in the same division.

Too bad it never lived up to the hype.

do you know roughly what their p4p standings were though? I doubt as high as Pac/Floyd because if I remember correctly roughly during that time either Roy or Mosley was considered #1 ..can't remember though.

To be honest, no I don't remember.

I just like the fact that both were undefeated in the same division and part of the p4p equation.

May indeed turn out to be the fight everyone has been waiting for.

If all else falls into place, both fighters can call it a night and retire with their reps intact.

This fight will be big. Good vs. Evil is always a big seller, there is no better hero in boxing then Pacman and there is no better villian then Floyd. Add in the crazy style contrast, entertaining 24/7, Manny being able to defy the odds to batter Oscar.
To be honest though for this fight to be as big as it can be it really needs some time to bake in the oven.

if you go back 30 years......

                  can't compete with duran-leonard.

arguably the best lightweight of all time against arguably the best welter of all time.

also I think Floyd will come into the ring wearing the black mamba mexican attire and will represent mexico like he did agianst hatton in order to antagonize pacquaio so when he KO's him it will be a spiritual victory for mexico
