What did Taylor do after he got KO'd immediate rematch. Cotto lost to Marg, Williams did not...Cotto was also his mandatory did not take fight until he vacated and Jennings was opponent.

Still that is no way to come up into boxing

Cotto deserves to be on it more then Chad also not just Paul
its true all of a sudden after losing a ver competitive fight with Margarito he has been written off

glen johnson-very good fighter and former champ who knocked jones out cold before calzaghe chose to fight him for money
tarver-light heavy champ who has beaten jones, johnson, and woods

            lets look at hatton

malignaggi-no notable wins on his resume but has a big mouth
lazcano-decent contender at lightweight 5 years ago!
Mayweather-well yea we know what happened
            castillo-totally shot lightweight moving up
urango-no notable wins and is slow as carl froch

not to mention dawson didn't get ktfo and is way more skilled than hatton you have a point.

Not being considered one of the ten best fighters across 17 weight divisions, which with lineal champs and borderline contenders makes up approx. 200 fighters who could be rated somewhere, is not being written off. THis sort of statement reflects how overblown P4P debates can become. Most would still rate Cotto #2 at welter since P-Will is moved up. That's the rating which matters.

i meant in general not just because he isnt top 10 .especially on here a lot of people have written him off, his performance that night would have beaten many if not most and Margarito is a freak of nature in that he absorbs so much damage but keeps coming but Cotto is hardly credited for his performance because he lost

Anyone who has written off Cotto for one loss is nuts. He may not ever be Marg but time will tell if there a ton of other guys he can beat. It's just a loss.
