Carl Froch Defends in April, Against Jermain Taylor?

According to promoter Mick Hennessey, newly crowned WBC super middleweight champion Carl "The Cobra" Froch is likely to make his first defense in April. Froch captured the vacant title last Saturday at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham after winning a twelve round decision over fellow unbeaten Jean Pascal. The high-contact fight had action from start to finish. Most view the battle as a sure contender for "fight of the year" honors. [details]

I think Froch's reign will be pretty short if he fights Taylor.

There must be more money in Bute fight if he takes that. But if he doesn't fight Froch he'll most likely defend against Lacy or Dirrell.

              Taylor's call, it's a mandatory for Froch.

Froch to KO Taylor mid-way through the fight... then onto the real power in the division, Kessler.

Hopefully Taylor fights Bute or Froch next. IMO Froch is the easier way to a belt, but probably less lucrative than Bute.

Plus w/Bute being a slick southpaw... the odds definitely go to Froch for being the less risky proposition.

Froch couldn't KO the no-defense having, almost got KD by Omar Pittman, Jean Pascal, but would KO Taylor mid rounds?

Close fight that I could see going either way. Neither fighter have high workrates so the bout will likely go the distance unless one of them land a big punch.
