My Problems With SOME Puerto Rican fans

That pisses me off to no end. I understand it happens, and I can sort of feel it around some circles around where I live, but it's ridiculous...seriously.Yea I understand perfectly, the problem I have is some "hardcore Puerto Rican fans" discredit them for losing one fight and abandon them in the dark.
There was a ****** article in the newspaper not long ago about a person saying the Puerto Rican people were never going to forgive Cotto for taking that knee instead of fighting till the end. Another one was about how Juanma was going to be the next big thing, because now that Cotto lost a fight, there isn't as much demand for him as it was when he was undefeated.
People who say this kind of stuff don't have an important opinion to begin with and should be ignored. I'm not talking about you Skylight
, I'm talking about those who abandon their fighters after a single loss. It's ******! The kind of people who do that aren't boxing fans to begin with. Cotto lost, yeah...is he garbage? No! Was he competitive? Of course he was! Did he take a beating? Sure. But did he put up a fight? As much as he could!
Hell, I hate it when casual boxing fans (over here) nuthug Tito and say Tito this and Tito that...I'm sure Trinidad was bigger then as probably Cotto will ever be in terms of fame and legacy...but that's not to say Cotto is a bum (or "porqueria" as they would say here).
I never said Cotto would obliterate Margarito, I always thought Margarito had a chance at Cotto.
But sometimes people who discredit these fighters after their first loss don't consider the way in which they lost, the fight that they put up and just care about the win, no matter how it is gained. Cotto could've taken a beating for 11 rounds, then won by disqualification and they'd be celebrating as if Cotto woul've won by knockout. Hell, I admit it...I'd probably be celebrating, too but I wouldn't be too happy about it after the initial euphoria.
I'd be willing to bet that some of the fanatical puertorricans blindsided by Tito Trinidad are the ones that didn't care about Cotto-Judah, Cotto-Mosley, Mayweather-Hatton (Mayweather a potential opponent for Cotto at the time)...no....BUT they did order Trinidad vs. Jones...and it did bigger numbers in PR than Cotto-Judah or Cotto-Mosley which is just absolutely pitiful at how they don't see what matters. To some, it's just the win on the record, the zero on the losses, and the nostalgia from the "good ol' days".
Anyone who thought Tito had a chance against Jones was foolish...
It's okay to think whatever you want to think, as long as you can give a valid reason behind your belief that "x" outcome will occur. If not, you're just talking out of where the sun doesn't shine!
BTW, don't drop fighters just because of one loss, boxing itself has high standards, but these type of people place them in a nearly God-like pedestal. To them:
Mayweather= GOD
Juanma=near GOD
Cotto= crap. He quit.
Leonard=ewww! Look at all them losses!
Ray Robinson= king of bums!
See? It's nice to have that zero, but just because you don't have it doesn't mean you're automatically garbage. I'd like to add some casual boxing fans are okay and understanding, but there are some that are just so negative with the sport that they get bored with it and need it to be WWE-like. In other words, an epic, bloody, spectacle from start to finish like a pro-wrestling match...
Sorry, I got riled up there.
