I agree with you. I think in the 7th round Oscar went to the corner and didn't throw any punches hoping the ref would stop the fight so he didn't have to go out on his stool. Oscar new he couldn't hit him and was getting tagged so he was ready to quit at the beginning of the 7th.

What I don't understand is why Oscar would crouch down so low and by doing this losing the height advantage.

Because he was terrified. Look at the fight dude. ****'s sake, it's not hard to see. He was cowering in the corner like a scared animal.

was anybody wondering this also?? how come he didnt clinch, and use his bigger body to push pac man backwards??? try to tire him out a lil bit, or at least to get in closer throw some blows to the body, if he wasnt gonna use his reach advantage to throw a good jab. what was up with that

Oscar almost never initiates a clinch. He's built himself up to be a prety complete fighter and fighters like that usually don't need to clinch as they can usually find other ways of avoiding punishment either by defense or by inside fighting.

It might have been a good idea for Oscar to clinch in this fight but i doubt it would've changed things much. Most likely thing that would have happend is that he just would've been prolonging the punishment for a few more rounds.
