Mayweather (157) vs Hopkins (160). Who wins?

Larry Merchant was the first to think of Pacman vs Oscar and everyone laughed at him. In the latest issue of The Ring Magazine, they discussed who Hopkins should face next, and other then Chad Dawson, Mayweather was the other name they SERIOUSLY discussed (no joke!).

So, for ****s & giggles, sometime late next year, who wins this epic battle?

    *Note*
-They said Hopkins could easily make 160 and Mayweather could easily fight a few pounds heavier then he did against de la hoya.

-This is for ****s & giggles ONLY, I don't need 50 replies saying why this fight would never happen. Just IF it were to happen, who would win and how

I think Hopkins is too big for Mayweather.

No one would pay to see this fight anyway. Hopkins is much too strong for PBF and would likely stop him late if they met around 160 apiece. PBF at MW wouldn't have his speed and elusiveness. Hopkins would be more aggressive than usual and put some nasty damage on PBF.

Hopkins would KO May. Hopkins has never been hurt, and been in with some BIIIG punchers. May would be too weak, and Hopkins would be happy to take 3 to land 1. And 1 would be all it would take.

well Oscar was dominating Hopkins in their fight until Hopkins got lucky and destroyed Oscar's glass body. Floyd on the other hand was dominating Oscar. So I say Floyd dominates Oldman Winter and TKO's him late.

You're crazy!!! I bet this would easily sell around 800k to 1 million PPV buys. Mayweather coming out of retirement going up in weight to fight the bigger hopkins, a legend who beat trinidad, de la hoya, tarver and most recently kelly pavlik?? It would definitely be the biggest PPV event of 2009, unless Oscar fights Ricky Hatton or someone like Margarito.

Now I agree with you that it's a mismatch and hopkins is too big, but that has never stopped people from watching fights (pacman/oscar for example, they said leonard was going to get murdered by hagler, etc etc etc)

Those fights figured to at least be excitin. PBF-Hopkins would likely be fought at a slow pace and people would sense that comin in. Diehards would be anxious to see it, but I doubt if it happened it would be a big seller.

Hop would beat Floyd, he would outweigh Floyd by about 20 pounds. Hop would be touching 175 come fightnight and Floyd would still be at 155.
