I have figured out why nobody wants to Fight P Williams

Let me start by saying that Paul Williams is a great fighter and he has lots of talent. He has a high work rate and is a down to earth guy who remain humble despite all his success. BUT THE GUY IS ****ING BORING!!!!!

When they announced his name as the winner this past saturday youcould of heard a pin drop in a half full arena(most of the fans were there to see arreola) and even if he fought in his home state of south carolina I wouldn't doubt the reaction would be much diffrent. I'm one of the few people on this board that understands that boxing isn't really about boxing. It's about money and nothing else. At the world class level no fighter is afraid of anyother fighter. But promoters on the other hand now those guys are afraid of other fighters simply becasue they stand to lose millions. Put yourself in a promoters position. Would you really want to put your meal ticket in against a very dangerous fighter who has no popularity and will do nothing to increase your fighters popularity among casual fans if you fighter just happens to win? As long as money and popularity rule boxing Paul Williams will be frozen out from big fights.

I understand that fighting Paul Williams is a high risk, and there are bigger name fights for the top fighters to have. Having said that, I don't think he is boring. I like his style, and I think he should be more popular. He'll fight anyone, has an exciting style, and fights all over the place. The guy is very likeable.

The thing is he is not boring to watch. He doesnt have a big following, because he fought 30+ bums and he only had 2 decent names in his resume, and people doesnt know him.If he stop demanding **** he doesnt deserve he will get hi fights. He just needs to fight people like Clottey, finish his trilogy with Quintana and the other people and he will start to get more recongnition. But since he doesnt bring money or anything, the big fighters are not willing to take the risk for a couple of dollars. He needs to fight a couple of guys and he will get his shot, I will say as close as november 09. He just needs to fight better competition, he can be fighting the Andy Kolles of the world!!!!

            Lol...

            So...

Apparently a guy who throws over a hundred punches a round, showed a good body punching game on Saturday, has the power to score first round KOs and fights the best is boring?

I wonder what the hell is exciting about the sport...

I understand that the average fan won't know him, therefore he isn't that marketable. It's a damn shame.

Williams had 30 amateur fights by the highest counts.

ODLH and Cotto had about a million.

Williams is learning on the job... like Chavez Jr., except, you know, he's progressing.

Dude just has no real fan base...If P-Will had a big fan base believe me he'd get a big fight but with his dangerous style he doesn't bring much to the table (financially). Margo-P-Will at HDC was all Margo's fan and the card he shared with Arreola was Arreola's fans. Sad but true dude needs a controversial persona or a signature win to generate interest!
