Read the post where I quoted one of my old posts.

From what I was told by one of his managers Kerry, he wants one more big money fight and one fight to cement his legacy.

This is straight from Kerry's mouth........

"What better way to promote your legacy cementing and career defining fight than beating the most popular fighter in the world?"

Make sense to me, what about you?

I've seen a few diehard Mayweather fans try and defend this decision, and i just dont see how you can. I like both Mayweather and Margarito, and would love to see a fight to show who's the true 147lb champ.

I dont even think Arum would pay Mayweather that much money ($8mil) to rematch Baldomir.

Now I don't know weather Arum's 8mill was legit or BS..but that offer was thrown at him after Mayweather had left Arum. Another thing, considering how Margarito wasn't a big name

Wouldn't Arum loose alot more then he'd gain?? Would the fight even generate anything close to say 6mill?!

Thats fine, but how does that translate to victories over the best welterweights?

          Something hes never faced before.

It doesnt, but by skill alone he is better than anyone at WW.

The skills and past should speak for themselves.

You can say the same for Margs and Cotto....

They have never faved anyone other than guys that were tailor made for them. ****ers that come straight at you or older fighters past their prime.

Floyd is something neither one of them has faced before. Young, fast, smart, defense, the smarts.

Listen i am a huge Marg fan, I mean I went to LV to watch him fight Cotto. But Floyd is on a higher level than either one of them.

I've been sayin this in the past.

IF and IF Floyd wanted to fight a WW it'd be against the best WW

              and right now

We don't know who the best WW is

maybe there was some strings attached... also i think there's still some lawsuit between arum and floyd because arum is holding onto some of floyd's money or something like that. suffice it to say... the $8 mill might've been legit, but who knows when floyd would get that money in his pocket.

Arum isn't ****** enough to loose more then he'd gain. Baldy at the TIME was an even bigger name then Margarito

How could Margarito vs Mayweather generate anything CLOSE to 8mill. That is something I'd like to understand

                      Mayweather-Judah was in April 2006

The Margarito offer for $8 million came after that. Mayweather didn't want it, he probably felt he could get as much money elsewhere (he did with Goosen to fight Baldomir). Mayweather and Arum had most likely disliked each other for awhile.

I'm not too sure about the $8 million offer, if it contained any details where Arum would get options on Mayweather's future fights, if PBF had to say with Top Rank, etc...Top Rank and Golden Boy weren't working together at this point (Pacquiao-Barrera 2 was their first fight together, in October 2007), and Mayweather really wanted the big fight with DLH.
