I don't think he's overrated, beating a pretty versatile fighter like Miguel Cotto in emphatic fashion pretty much answered a lot of questions, at least for me. Antonio Margarito has subtle boxing skills that a lot of people dismiss or don't notice, because first and foremost he's a balls to the wall type of fighters. Equipped with a Granite chin, elite stamina, and mental toughness which I admire in any fighter. I'm not a hardcore fan, but I respect him for his humble personality which I can definitely relate to.

This much is true. My favorite moments in Margarito fights, is when he has his man hurt and he knows its time to go for the kill, I love how he feints with both hands. Just throws them out to the side to further confuse his opponent.

I thought he picked off with his gloves, many of Williams early shots through the first six rounds as well.

Nothing subtle about stepping on a tomato. Margarito's got skills, but beating his opponents into pulp is not what I'd call "subtle." Brutal is a more apt word.

I'm pretty sure he used subtle as a description because most people just see Tony as a big bruiser with no skills whatsoever. Hes not slick but he does use technique.

Margarito's brutal battering is there for everyone to see and enjoy, but his boxing skills are a little more discreet, however they're there when the time is right in every fight.

He's at the stage in his career where he's become a really crafty veteran of the trade. He knows when to press for the knockout after breaking down his opponents mentally and then physically at which point they are ripe and defenseless for the taking. His punches come from all types of angles from both hands. He likes mixing up the speed and power of his punches to confuse opponents to catch them off guard. He also works the body consistently and is always digging shots even in the clinch to give no rest periods to opponents.

Back in his younger days he was extremely wild throwing all sorts of haymakers. He's much more calculating and reserved by comparison today as a seasoned pro. He's not a defensive expert by any stretch of the imagination but is never caught off balance despite criticism of being a wild puncher. Moreover, despite possessing slowish feet he's always in position to fire off combinations even against fast boxers.

I voted yes since some Margarito fans think he can KO Hopkins

I really don't understand people that call marg and cotto hype jobs. There both class fighters who produce big exciting fights. The people who are making silly schemes to call them overated are just plain haters, who we don't really want to see on this forum.
