Doug DeWitt was pretty tough but Benn was able to stop him, Robbie Simms was only stopped once in his career by Benn although he was washed up at that point.

The Barkley stoppage was a little odd, I'm not really a fan of the 3 knockdown rule.
    i agree with this post

however James Toney is not huge puncher either and he stopped De Witt also

I saw that fight, Toney hit DeWitt with every punch but was not able to hurt him even once, the fight was simply so one-sided that DeWitt decided to quit and retired on his stool.

DeWitt did get legitimately stopped by Kalambay and a journeyman Jose Quinones, so he wasn't unstoppable by any means although he went 12 tough rounds with Hearns.

what does that terminology mean to you when you read Barkley or Benn's record

Benn did not Ko him the fight was stopped because of the 3 KD rule
          Which is called a knockout.

Ok i don't think he was on Julian Jackson or Nasem Hammed level of punching power But Nigel Benn packed one hell of a punch.Benn stopped and ko'd some very high class opponets including Iran Barkely and maybe it was a early stoppage but Benn was wobbling him and did drop him something which Nunn, Hearns,Kalambay,a heavyweight Berbick cound't do.Benn stopped Robbie Sims a very underrated fighter and Nigel is the only ever man to stop him and he fought some big punches and heavy handed fighters and beat some of them as well Duran, Barkley,Pazienza,DeWitt,Kalambay,Bobby Czyz, all those fighters cound't stop him and Benn ko's him that a very good achievment.Benn also tko'd Gerald McClellan a man that had never even been dropped before and had been in there with Mugabi and Julian Jackson and even if McClellan was tired Benn was still dropping him and stopped him . Benn also put down iron chinned Chris Eubank, and had a 72% percentage. I think you made a silly comment there dude Nigel Benn was a very big puncher, he was also rated 91 in Ring 100 greatest punchers.

Duran was hurting Barkley and had him all over the show in the 11/12 round and Duran was a LW and he did not punch like Hearns either

                  sims was finished then

Benn never staggered McClellan he went down cause he got accidently butted

the Eubank KD was as slip and Eubank was not remotely hurt what so ever

make up what you like Benn never knocked out top calibre oposition he had lot of power but his power was overrated

he is not in the class of Hearns,Arguello,Hamed,Jackson,Tyson they are on a different level to Benn for power

Didn't you read my post i said he weren't in the league of the Naz's or Jackson's or Hearns's.Maybe Benn weren't knocking out top oppsition but he was tko'ing them, and Sims went to fight Pazienza and Paz cound't ko him and the fight before Paz had just stopped Lloyd Honeyghan. And ok maybe Duran did have Barkely buckling put Benn was hurting him alot more than Hearns and Nunn did.You have your view i have mine i think Benn was a big puncher and i'am the not only one.
