Nigel Benn's punching power biggest myth in Boxing

Nigel Benn's punching power biggest myth in Boxing yes he was a big puncher but he was not the concussive knockout artist people believe he was,he was no Julian Jackson or Naseem Hamed punching power wise

there are a lot of excuses floating about when you mention Benn's punching power people like to say he never carried his punching power up to 168 and if Eubank,Collins said he hit so hard then he must of been the puncher people believe he is or was,Eubank had Collins over hurt BTW where as Benn could not in two fights

reallity is Benn knocked out a lot of Bums on his way up and most of them with one punch finishes but when his competition level stepped up his knockouts dried up he did not even knockout Iran Barkley he was stopped on the 3 KD rule he never hurt Michael Watson once he could not get rid of Sugar Boy Malinga,Galvano was stopped on cuts if i remember right and he went the full 12 in the rematch he could not stop Juan Carlos Gimenez Ferreyra either or Henry Wharton ,Nardiello basically just mentally gave up and Perez was a bum and Benn never really hurt McClellan or staggered him either we all know why he was going down

Benn knocked out people he was suposed to knockout Lou Gent,Nicky Piper TKO,Kid Milo TKO,Dan Sherry cause he was a big puncher but REAL big hitters like Jackson and Hamed knocked out guys that dont get stopped and were current or former world champs at the time and with single shots aswell a lot of the time and Benn never did this

how am i resrespecting him you P-rick

im saying Benn never staggered him because of his punching power McClellan could of been fighting anybody and that may have happened infact its debatable that an accidental head butt was the telling factor

How does it read on barkley's record? Loss by TKO1, or Loss by 3KDR1?

He got knocked out in the 1st round.

I've never considered his power to be on the same level as Julian Jackson for example but it was evident that he had very heavy hands, almost every puncher tends to get less KO's when facing top competition.

Doug DeWitt was pretty tough but Benn was able to stop him, Robbie Simms was only stopped once in his career by Benn although he was washed up at that point.

The Barkley stoppage was a little odd, I'm not really a fan of the 3 knockdown rule.

know he got stopped IE TKO

what does that terminology mean to you when you read Barkley or Benn's record

Benn did not Ko him the fight was stopped because of the 3 KD rule
