MMA vs. Boxing could easily be made, but why not so far?

This would end the debate: MMA top fighter vs. Boxing's top fighter.

Say Fedor at HW vs. one of the Klitschkos. You can't use Haye because he has a Martial Arts background...although so does Vitali...huh.

    So why hasn't it happened?

PPV numbers would be at a record high.

You wouldn't even have to deal with Dana White since Fedor is not with him.

MMA rules or just old school UFC rules when Gracie owned it...which means, no gloves, no ball shots, and no eye poking...but that's it...FIGHT

      What rules though?

MMA and boxing are two different sports and should be kept that way.

Just added it: We can go old school UFC rules when Gracie owned it which is almost no rules. Just no testicle shots and poking of the eyes. The rest is allowed.

And the final stake is that a top boxer wouldnt fight under MMA rules for the money he would be paid since he could just fight a boxing match and get paid 4 times more

Fedor would do it...I think he actually welcomed it in an interview as well as many others.

Then you pretty much want it to down to a simple street fight?

This fight is easily promoted. MMA VS BOXER in Old School UFC fight rules when Gracie owned it.

The Fight sells itself. PPV at 50 bucks a buy would break numbers...

Ah, yeah...almost. Street fighting allows biting, I don't think this was allowed so add that. And of course just the weapons you were born with when you came out of your mother's womb.

Gracie made it that way on purpose: he wanted to see who was actually the best fighter. The reason he sold it was beacuse they wanted him to make "rules" and make it into a "legit" sport. This upset him very much and he decided to sell instead of seeing his dream ****d before his eyes.

He thought "rules" would take away from certain forms. But he did prevent testicle shots and eye poking...but that's it from what I remember.

Thats a very subjective and simplistic approach.
