YAY!!! I can dream about him losing again!

Saying that Dawson probably can't beat him, but hes the only fighter worth fighting.

s**ty, it wouldve been nice to see calzaghe vs dawson but there wont be enough money for it in the near future, and by the time dawson is a huge money draw cal will be in his 40s. oh well, i still would like to see a b hop rematch for the record, but unless b hop pulls out another pavik performance it will be horible on the eyes

He doesn't do rematches because up until now when one was issued he knew he could lose it, (can't remember the guy's name now but his fans know him) or they were such crappy fighters it would be (even more) embarrassing to fight them a second time. Hopkins or Kessler could be it. I just doubt he will fight Dawson who is in the reality the only legit guy there. A win over dawson would mean allot more than the other fights. But if he knows he can't win it's best to remain a fake champion with your 0 than a fake champion without your 0 and i think it's the case here.

he can make alot of money vs. anyone in his hometown... it'll either be Hopkins or Dawson, those 2 make alot of sense than anyone near his weight division.

You all forget about Glencoffe Johnson? 80% of Showtime viewers thought he beat Dawson. Calzaghe has ran (claimed injury) from Johnson before. CHICKEN****! He owes Johnson a shot if he doesn't want his legacy to be the only elite fighter in his era and weight range that ran from him.

True. He could fight a milkman in Cardiff and still sell around 60k tickets.

I'm not sure that he will fight Lacy again especially given Lacy's last five fights. If Lacy is on his mind 24/7, it's because that is the fight that catipaulted him into the mainstream. Only the diehards knew Calzaghe before that.

A rematch with Kessler would be great. Mikkel fought him well last time but didn't double up his power punches enough. He had Calzaghe rocked a few times but never applied the pressure at the right time.

Dawson probably makes most sense but the money just won't be there. There just isn't enough big names at 175 that deem big money. I fear that Calzaghe won't come back down to 168 and a super middleweight moving up to 175 for the first time against someone like the Welshman is scary. You never know how someone will carry the weight late into the fight. Or on the flip side, how they will do losing weight.

What we see in boxing is that for a boxer to walk away, like no other sport, is difficult. There is always soemone in the ear of the newly retired saying "hey, we can get another big pay day". It turns pyschological as well. You have fighters that have never ducked anyone, then they go into retirement and they are still being called out. It's hard for them to stay dormant. They still feel young. They still think they have their speed, power, lure, all fo that.
But as Calzaghe said, there will always be up and coming fighters. A fighter just need to know when to truly hang it up and not be drawn out by the big pay day.

                    BIGFLIP55...I love that girl.
