sometimes when fighters get old they see the opening but their reflexes are too slow to take advantage maybe this is what Roach sees in Oscar
Do you reckon thats all it is mate?

    Could be makes sense...

If Oscar would have been more agressive he would have been stopped no doubt in my mind.

It was because he was more cautious against a defensive fighter that the rounds appeared close.
        i agree

most fo the time you dont beat defensive fighters by overwhelming them unless you are Roy Jones you have to fight cautiously because as soon as you become pre-occupied with hitting your oponent you forget you are stanging in range smack **** infront of them ready to be countered

flurrys is the way to beat defensive fighters stustained assualts dont usually work cause either the oponent tires or he gets nailed with clean effective shots that lose him the fight

i dont get what he is saying at all am i the only one who thinks if he had put more pressure on he would of got hit more and got tired quicker i think he had the perfect game plan but he stopped using the jab and got tired as ALWAYS
freddie didn't come up with that game plan... dlh did... roach just got dlh in shape and worked the mitts.

dlh believed as did many on this forum that the way to beat floyd is w/ sheer activity and pressure.

Just add some more to the thread.

How come it is always what De la Hoya didn't do(JAB) instead of what PBF may have been doing to discourage him from throwing the jab?

only throwing your jab for half a fight is definitely the wrong game plan...i thought he learned from the tito debacle that the last 6 rounds also counted

Exactly man ......the game plan was the right one.....Oscar just wasn't fit enough to apply it for 12 rounds.

TBH, I thought Floyd was toying with him.

i think oscar came in with the perfect gameplan...

there are only TWO THINGS (in my opinion) that kept him from winning.

                      A) the jab...he used it brilliantly and frequently for the first half or so of the fight...but then he just STOPPED using it...

                      B) he faded...he got tired and thats when mayweather capitalized and won majority of the late rounds...

more body shots would have helped his cause as well.

i think he fought a pretty good fight against floyd and im eager to see a rematch to see if im right and oscar can beat him...

                      i believe he can.
