Mayweather, Sr. has been with Oscar so long that he'd be able to tell Hatton all of his flaws.

Im not exactly amazed with Mayweather Sr as a trainer, so who cares about him. I didnt see a big difference with Hatton in the Malignaggi fight. in fact, when Hatton reverted to his 'old' self, he did better.
His biggest credential is being the father of Mayweather Jr., and it was Roger who mostly trained Jr. anyway.Comment

I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed that. Everyone was saying how good Hatton looked thanks to Mayweather Sr.. It wasn't until he got rough "Graham style" that he started blowing Paulie out.Comment

Loew built the foundation for Pavlik...that doesnt change the fact that hes a pretty bad trainer.

otherwise, when Hatton started being rough and really fighting, he did a lot better. the only thing that he was doing on the outside was landing that lead, almost leaping jab/left hand, and Ive seen him do that throughout his career. its his own, strange way to close distance, but it works out pretty well for him.
I cant really say that Sr made Hatton really worse, so maybe Im being a little critical of him. but I didnt see any major improvement, and I wouldnt exactly pay huge amounts of money for him either. I wouldnt choose him over Nacho.Comment
