Seriously this first page of this thread made my head hurt so here is how I will explain it to you guys since most of you don't seem to have a clue about what you are talking about.
Mexicans from Mexico don't look at skin color but they look at nationality. In this case Margarito would be considered their fighter because he lives and fights out of Mexico.
Mexican's from Mexico look at Oscar De la Hoya as an American fighter which he is. For the most part Mexico does not share American's infatuation with race and they don't consider Oscar an American because he Fights technically, loses against Puerto Rican fighters, or Quits in his corner. They consider him American becasue thats where he was ****ing born!!!!
Oscar's fans are simply all the casual boxing fans that are in the united states. They only buy PPV's to watch Oscar because he's the fighter they know so Oscar may night have won over Mexico but he did win over America and not just the Mexican American community.Comment
