no devastating ko was coming. malignaggi is tough. he would have lasted the last two rounds.

i don't know what is more disturbing, the damage the "tko" does to malignaggi's record, or the 10k vb hit i took on paulie getting tko'd. mcgirt is ****. i'm gonna go watch the tape of sweet pea whoopin that ass in honor of the fat man

I wonder if Pauli even knows why he didn't throw punches? I'm surprised points weren't taken for all the holding he did. After this poor performance, he should tone down the **** talking.

i'd be bothered too for the premature stop, but i don't think paulie's doing himself any favors by airing that dirty laundry in public. take that up with mcgirt in private.

Paulie would of lasted the distance no doubt about that but whats the point?
mcgirt must care about paulie hence the reason he pulled him out.
But if it was me i would of let paulie see the end.He at least deserved that...

I thought this fight would have been more even than it was. I was suprised that the fight seemed to come with ease to Hatton. I thought for sure Paulie would had been more elusive on defense and able to score with counters. Knowing he wouldn't be able to score much power punches, I was almost certain he would have been able to pitty pat and win some rounds.

From McGirt's, point of view, he sees the only way his fighter can win is via KO and that wans't going to happen. In the Cotto fight, paulie was winning rounds. In fact, probably won four of the last six rounds.

Tought loss for Paulie. He's got to take some time, go home and heal, and then go right back to Gleason's and start training.

yeah i say the same thing, right after it happened i said, that might be the end of their relationship. i think malignaggi should find another trainer, i really didn't like all of mcgirts advice, i thought that mailgnaggi should've listen to some of it like staying on the outside, but i don't think he gave enough info on how to handle hattons style, double jabbing isnt it, but then again, if you don't throw a right hand, there isnt much anyone can tell you and there isnt much one could do period.......

thing about maliganggi is that he has no power, so how could he fight the upper crust fighters with no power, and he can't move down in weight he's too big, he doesn't have any more to cut, he's always been a 140 pound fighter, with his brittle hands, he should either hang them up or he should find a way to develop some kind of punch that other fighters will respect.

i like maliganggi's mind set, i think he has a good ethic and means well, i kind of feel sorry for him 1) for the stoppage, although i was saying before mcgirt did if he isnt going to throw someone is going to stop it 2) he doesn't have any power to really make a claim in boxing, he can't keep anyone off of him................ with out any punching power there isnt all that much he can do, his boxing options are limited.............

maybe another trainer like mayweather sr could take his all boxing style and make him a better defensive wizard type fighter and he could do something form there without having a big punch, other than that the only alternative i think would be to get another win and hang them up because on the top level he wont be able to hang, unless he can master a willie pep style but then again, pep was able to stop guys though.......

If this sort of stoppage were the prevalent custom in boxing, I would see no issue. However, it is not - he should have been allowed to at least salvage his pride by finishing out the remainder the bout as all others before him have.

his trainer saw his fighter taking unnecessary punishment, paulie didn't do anything in this fight other than to hold, he was getting beatup, he wasn't defending himself....buddy was looking out for his best interest, why continue to let your guy take hits when it was clear to anyone watching that fight he was gonna lose and that he wasn't doing aboslutely NOTHING to make buddy not call a stop to it......there was nothing wrong with this stoppage!!!

seems to be that too many people along w/apulie are making way to much about this stoppgae, bottom line is paulie did not perform, there's no shame in it, there's shame in only throwing your trainer under the bus...
