Let's keep things in perspective, it was a good performance tonight but Hatton could fight Mayweather 20 times and he wouldn't win.
Hatton would've beat Mayweather

Lets not go overboard. Hatton clearly won the 5th and probably the 1st. I thought he also won the round with the point deduction. It was competitive for 6/7 rounds with Mayweather landing cleaner punches but mainly single right hands.
Mayweather didnt start beating him up till the 8th. Theres no need to overexaggerate. Mayweather outclassed him but Hatton was chances went from slim to none by Cortez's performance.Comment

dude, hatton didn't win the 1st, unless you count mayweather being off balance as almost being knocked down.
mayweather beat ricky hattons ARSE man.Comment

c'mon... lets be serious here... hatton never beats mayweather. hatton wanted to fight on the inside like that w/ floyd... its just that floyd beat him at his own game.Comment

Actually Hatton hit him with a jab which knocked him off balance. It would've been a knock down if he'd gone down. Mayweather didnt do much in the first and Ricky set the tempo so I would think most gave him that round.
To say he won no rounds and was just given a beating is ridiculous.
He was outclassed in the later rounds by the better fighter. If they fought 10 times, Floyd probably wins 10. But a better ref and we'd see a better Hatton performance I feel.Comment

weren't you supposed to leave this forum?
He would've beat him early last time out if Cortez let them fight
It was Cortez who wouldn't let them fight
Floyd adapted to the ref's ability but he reffed in favour in Floyd from the opening bell, Cortez was protecting the moneyThe ref it the fight tried to get them to break it up on their own but the both kept holding.
I've always said, it was one of Floyd's tactics to do exactly what Ricky does to (1) get into Ricky's head by bullying him back and (2) making the ref annoyed by the amount of clinching on both parties.
Floyd wins no matter what. Floyd adapts to the opponents style/ability.
the only shot Ricky has now against Floyd is to wait a little bit more time, like have a fight in May/June with Floyd Jr. and hope Floyd has lost a couple steps and doesn't have any tune-ups.
yes he would

Floyd only got the upper hand in the inside in the later rounds, for some reason Cortez thought it was ok to fight on the inside when Floyd was on top. In the earlier rounds Hatton beat him on the inside easily with his aggression but Cortez kept diving inI remember the few times when Joke Cortez let Ricky and Floyd fight on the inside, it was still Floyd getting the upper hand in the exchanges. Floyd just trumps Ricky in every department including one where he excels and that's why it wouldn't matter in the end whoever they pick to ref their fights because Floyd knows what adjustment would be necessary for every situation. That's how complete Mayweather is.
it was deadly serious
PBF is a fraud.
nonsense
He was always better than Mayweather, the ref helped Floyd
u still here?
no the ringpost did, but Cortez put hatton in that position
b/s only the american judges who were offended by the booing thought that and Floyd was the one getting pounded on the inside until the later rounds when Cortez actually let them fight. It was somehow ok when Floyd was on top.

no he didn't, thats nonsense. As for the first, Hatton cut the ring down and put Floyd under all sorts of pressure.
Floyd's pitty patty punches aren't worth a ****. Thats how you have De La Hoya coming out saying he didn't even feel he was in a fight.Comment

Hatton deserves a rematch. Cortez clearly ****ed him in that fight.
Do I think he would win...probably not. However Hatton is so effective on the inside and in the clinch that taking that away from him is like taking away his best weapon.Comment
