wonderful news. if Calzaghe beats Dawson, he is officially my favorite fighter but I'm not even close to being a fan of his at the moment.

            Make it happen!

Calzaghe's biggest criticism is that he never fought great prime fighters. Dawson is not quite on the level of a prime Jones, Hopkins, or Toney, P4P speaking, but he is the best out there and it would probably go down as his biggest win. I would definitely give him a lot more respect if he took and won this fight and I think a lot of other people would too.

I won't become a fan because of his style, but I will respect him a whole lot more if he takes this fight, and he will get my 100% if he fights Johnson too. Not to prove anything else, but just to take care of that unfinished business and not go back on his word.

I also would love to see a fight between Dawson and Calzaghe, or one against Johnson. I had the fight between Dawson and Johnson as a draw, and the champ retains his title. The showtime commentator and one ringside newspaper had it like that as well. Dawson sqeeked by no doubt, but he learned alot from that fight.

Is he ready to take on Calzaghe? I don't know the answer, but he does seem very hungry, and always is in search of improving himself. DiBella said that a win for Dawson would not mean anything to US boxing fans. Thats bull****, Dawson does have a good following, he needs his name out there.

Win or loose, as long as he does not lose badly, this a great fight for Dawson.

                MAKE THE FIGHT!!

I honestly dont what the fight to happen, i think he will beat Dawson soundly and it would be the same old story..

He wouldnt get any credit! We would hear all the excuses come out. "Dawson was overrated", "Dawson was a bum", "Dawson didnt even beat Johnson, why did he get this fight"

People talk about Joe not fighting prime fighters..what about Lacy? Most Americans thought Lacy was a monster and would destroy Joe...I dont really want to go into all that again but i m just saying its happened before, Joe has beat a young prime fighter tipped to be the next big thing and didnt get any credit...

He should fight Dawson. It really doesn't matter what people say; Dawson is a legit 175 pound fighter with LH Titles. I think Dawson should suck it up and go back to Floyd Sr. for this fight.

I wouldn't mind seeing Calzaghe face Johnson either, but how much does Johnson have left and will Calzaghe get any credit for it now?
THe fight should have happened years ago but Joe had to back out twice.

I think Dawson is good, but I can agree; I think he has become overrated. I still liked him better when he was trained with Floyd Sr.

For Lacy: not all Americans. I've said this before: There was a group of Americans, that included me, that laughed at the notion Lacy was the 168 pound Tyson. We broke down the reasons why as well. However, Lacy was a decent-good fighter and was a threat and Joe whooped his ass so I've always felt Joe should always get credit for beating Lacy; especially for exposing him as an overrated American hype machine fighter...and hopefully in the future people will be able to try to see what is really in front of them clearer in the future. But who knows; I'm even blind to these things; we're human.

Calzaghe really only has two choices: Dawson and Johnson. Dawson because he is young, a legit 175 pound fighter who carries the LH title; and Johnson who was a title holder at 175, although not really a legit LH since he grew into the weight, and the fact that Joe turned him down 2-3 times in the past.
