But we are talking about Calzaghe here. People didn't just pick Hopkins (or Roy for that matter) over him because they "liked him", they did it because they thought he was more skilled and it was the most likely outcome. There are tons of threads were people explain in detail why Hopkins and Roy would beat Joe, and they gave A LOT more reasons than just "because they are my favorites"

I believed B-Hop would win and I felt he edged him. If that is what you wanted to hear

hatton is definitely more likable than calzaghe.

I didn't need to hear that, it's obvious because you said it yourself, you "stick by your favorite fighter"

it's barely late afternoon in hatton land. being a golden boy fighter...... ricky could get very winnable matchups against pac and marquez.

the sun has already set in wales. there is no one left at 175 that could give joe's resume a boost.

That may be true but I still like Hatton better. Hatton's the type guy you go get drunk with, Calzaghe the type guy you see at a bar with grease in his hair acting like he's the ****.

To answer this topic, like somebody already said, the difference is Hatton is just "good" while Calzaghe is exceptional. Hatton has been knocked out, battered, bruised, beat up, and Calzaghe has barely even been cut in his career. Calzaghe is much more skilled in all areas of boxing - speed, adaptability, CHIN, defense, and even their KO ratios are similar.

Hatton was almost KTFO vs. Collazo and Lazcano, and comes out every fight looking like the loser because his face is so ****ed up from taking so many clean shots. Not to mention, he has to hold, clinch, wrestle, and use every dirty tactic in the book to win. As if this weren't enough, he complains when his opponents use anything resembling those same tactics on him. Hatton is a disgrace as a boxer. Aside from his fun-loving and carefree personality, I don't see how he can have any supporters. His fights are boring and difficult to watch because of all the clinching and how reckless he is. He talked **** about how he'd beat Floyd cuz he was bigger and stronger, then he said Floyd was a boring fighter, then when he gets KTFO he says he was not at his best weight and that Floyd fought dirty. What a whiny lil *****.
