Mayweather wanted the fight at 154 just as much as Oscar so he could get that belt in the 5th weight class. Let's not forget about that. That was one of his career goals, to get belts in 5 weight classes.

i think you misunderstood me...i think at 154 he thought floyd couldnt hurt him..but after he was getting stunned he abandoned his jeb cause floyd was throwing the right over it....but at 147 i think floyd wouldve destroyed him

I understood your question I just wondered if you thought he fought scared.

Anyway ... I think my first answer sums it up, he wasn't scared but he certainly knew he couldn't win without the advantages he gave himself.

On the other hand I'm not sure the fight would have gone much different at 147lb's, sure that is Floyds natural weight or at least his more comfortable weight but the extra pounds didn't seem to affect him in the Oscar fight. Also for all we know Oscar may have benefited from fighting at 147lb's, he may have been faster, sharper ... well never know.
