I don't think he was scared and that reflected in the way he fought, but he certainly knew Floyd was the better fighter and tried to give himself advantages that would increase his chances of winning the fight.

Mayweather wanted the fight at 154 just as much as Oscar so he could get that belt in the 5th weight class. Let's not forget about that. That was one of his career goals, to get belts in 5 weight classes.

Oscar wanted it at 154 becasue it would increase his chances of winning, Mayweather never fought at 154 before. At 147 Mayweather would have retained for Speed and power and would have knocked down Oscar. Mayweather was very close to knocking down Oscar

yep... dlh seeks every advantage. the only reason he has to get down to 147 and then 140 is to make his next couple of fights against smaller guys look competitive.
