Well if Golden boy promotion was willing to pay shane 2.5 million out of the 4 million dollars on the table then Arum or Top rank should be able to match that but they're only willing to pay Margarito $2 million.

Jin, being Shane's manager, is wanting equal or more money for her man. Margarito is the man at Welter and deserves the lion's share of the money. Shane's at the end of his career and trying to make money, but he (and Jin) gotta realize that Margarito is the Champ and just KTFO of the man that last beat Shane.

If you go on the street,in a sample of 10 random people,do they know Margarito or Shane Mosley.Margarito only beat Cotto who is not even a cross over boxer himself.Translate that reputaion into monetary terms and you will find that Mosley deserves a lot more that Margarito.

Not that this should determine the pay, but to answer your question:

You have to be pretty popular to enter the hall of fame.
Margarito is well known NOW, but over the years it's been Mosley.
You ask people who AREN'T boxing fans if they ever heard the name
"Sugar Shane Mosley" and there's a good chance they'll say "yea".
You ask those same people who Margarito is, and you'll find the name is
not as well known.

There a major thing most people are missing here. Even if you don't think 50% of pie is a fair split(even though I think its fair.) it seems like Toney is not interested in doing business. If you go AWOL and don't show up to even try get your people to swing the numbers in your direction then of course the fight won't get made. He took his ball and went home pretty much. Pac Man walked away from Oscar but still kept negotiating till the nembers made sense. I think whats happenening is a risk vrs reward thing. Shane is still a fighter you have to be prepared for cause on any given night he the talent to beat just about anyone. I want see this fight. If it happens anywhere near me I would go to this fight. As Floyd once said to Ellerbe "Make the F'N fight."

Maragrito is nowhere as famous as Sugar Shane Mosley. Margarito has never been the #1 p4p and Margo's resume sucks. The only notable fight is the Cotto fight. Other than that he's trash. His resume looks nowhere near Mosley's, Shane has faced many big name fighters and yall are ****** saying that most mexicans like Margarito better, because Shane Mosley fights like a Mexican. He ain't a good boxer, he's a fighter.
