Why Margarito vs Mosley Did Not Happen = Jin Mosley!

Jin, being Shane's manager, is wanting equal or more money for her man. Margarito is the man at Welter and deserves the lion's share of the money. Shane's at the end of his career and trying to make money, but he (and Jin) gotta realize that Margarito is the Champ and just KTFO of the man that last beat Shane.

Now, back to Shane vs Tony. Margarito beat Cotto, who beat Mosley. Mosley's last fight earned him 1.5 mil. Not very good numbers for a "Hall of Famer". Margarito's fight against Cotto made more dollars than Shane's fight against Miguel.

You know that Marg only got that much for fighting Cotto as well. Not very good you say?

Think of it this way. Mosley is the best known fighter that Margarito will probably ever fight. I reckon that's quite certain. He was offered a 50/50 split, which also happened to be the biggest payday he has ever had in his life. Now in the Cotto/Marg fight, from my memory at least, Margarito accepted less than 50%. He only got 1.5 million against a lesser name than Mosley. Why would he take less than Cotto but not take the same amount against Mosley even though it is way more than he made against Cotto? No logic whatsoever.

Cotto made twice as much as Margarito. Why was he happy with that? He is not only making more in this fight but he is getting the equal % of the share against a greater name, which if he wins, would lead to even bigger fights and the possibility of getting an equal or greater share in future fights.

You're not looking at this from the right perspective. You're looking at this as an overzealous Margarito fan. Him being happy to take much less against Cotto, half in fact, doesn't make sense when he is now being offered the highest payday ever which also happens to be an equal share with Shane Mosley, also a sure-fire, first-ballot, Hall of Fame fighter. Something that neither Cotto nor Margarito might make. Well, Margarito probably won't make it now. He is getting too old, but Cotto may be able to if he is still in good form. That's beside the point. Previous to the Cotto fight, he would never have dreamed of even getting a fight against Mosley, let alone being offered 50% of the purse equaling a massive, career high 2 million payday. Him winning that fight allowed him to get these type of fights against these name opponents, but he is still not big enough to be getting a higher %. He only got 25% against Cotto, who is not as well known as Mosley. That also only equaled 1.5 million. Why would he not be happy with getting 50%, equaling 2 million dollars against Shane Mosley?

What Margarito doesn't seem to get is that he isn't the draw in the fight, Mosley is the draw and Mosley isn't that great a draw himself. The best PPV numbers Margarito did before Cotto was something like 75k.

Shane never wanted to fight Margo, the fight with Berto was being set up since the last double header on HBO featuring Shane and Berto.

According to what i know, Jin,Shane or Golden boy promotion have nothing to do with how much Margarito gets paid...That was up to Margarito and his promoter (Arum/Top rank)...Nothing to do with GBP.

Each promoter had to agree a deal with their own fighter, GBP did with Mosley while Top rank couldnt with Margarito.
