Interesting thing about Pacquiao-Marquez Round 1 in 2004

I'm telling you, I never for a second thought the fight was over. I knew Marquez was going to get up because he was still in control of his body, he didn't wobble or anything, he just kinda went down. He took the count properly and was doing everything to steady himself.

I knew the fight was going to be a grueling one, especially after Marquez made it to the corner.

When he went down for the third time he kind of held on to the ropes then Manny hit him again, he went down and put his hands over his face. That's when I thought it was over, when he made it out of the round of course I thought he had a chance to come back.

Exactly, he still looked very strong. He never Emmanuel Lucero'ed, it just seemed to be a case of him being unable to deal with the straight left hand of Pacquiao early on.

the judges in this fight were ****ing ******, how does one judge have it 115-110 one way and the other has the same score the other way?

lampley, merchant, and ledderman should score every fight that hbo promotes.

i could judge a fight blindfolded better than some of these **** ass judges could.

regardless of who i thought won, the fact remains that the score cards were all WAYYY too different from each other.

I'm saying Marquez being a technical fighter in the ring didn't expect to get hit like that.It surprised him but was able to get back up!
