You see, this is a big mis-conception. You see Lesnar as this huge guy and figure that all he's there for is to brawl it out. When in reality, boxing or even Muay Thai isn't even his specialty at all. He's a pro in wrestling. That's the big difference. The critics of the sport automatically love to point to a boxer and say 'he can knock out so and so MMA fighter' when not realizing that MMA isn't just boxing. It involved many other styles and arts into one. So it's kind silly to compare a boxer to a wrestler. If they were to fight, I believe the guys you mentioned would beat Lesnar, but keep in mind that it's must be their professional sport of boxing, and their rules. If it's MMA, it's the other way around. You really can't compare one sport's athletes with another. It's like comparing a rugby player to an American football player. Both have similar styles but are worlds apart in terms of rules.

im not really a fan of UFC but i agree that in ufc the whole show contains bouts which consist of fighters of equal abilities. Boxing nowadays has boring undercards. But although i despise Don King his cards of the 90's were great i wish it could go back to that way. There was always competitive fights on his cards.Comment

undercards are really horrible for instance last weeks Jones-Calzaghe which was basically a local show, truely awful undercard and the main event wasnt exactly good either
in MMA they give you usually a really good card with fights worth watching, in boxing they dont anymore
Boxing seems to pay the main event fighters too much and then not have enough to spend on the undercardComment

Not sure what he's speaking of, the UFC cuts a ridiculous amount of corners with production and everything else (most notably fighter salaries) in order to maximize profits. Compared to the former production value of Pride it appears primitive.Comment

What a joke that would never happen. If someone like Lesnar fought for a boxing title after only a few fights i would cry. Perhaps there are things to learn from the presentations, but i don't want boxing to turn into a circus with randoms like Lesnar and Kimbo getting all the attention, even if it does attract your average moron.
MMA:
The ultimate fighter winner Serra TKOs P4P champ GSP.
Boxing:
The contender winner gets destroyed by P4P champ Calzaghe.

Difference being that Serra really earned that spot. He was the type who would put on awesome fights but would get screwed because the extent of the boxing judges understanding of the ground game really wasn't up to par. He also had Cecil Peoples screwing him over as well.
On top of that, GSP was getting ****y back then.
Now please. Stick to the topic instead of recycling.Comment

yeah... a lot of times it's the packaging that sells **** for diamonds.I don't find nothing wrong with his view. The pre-fight interview aren't a bad idea. He isn't really talking about the sports and their science but rather the presentation of the sports. After-all, UFC is selling big now in the U.S. and are marketing excellently with fighters like Lesnar. I just hope this doesn't turn out into another boxing vs MMA thread. Been in enough of those threads that it will be just be a recycled version of them. But overall, Hatton's comments aren't insulting to boxing at all...Comment
