Tyson said some interesting things in the post-Bruno fight press conference:

He mentioned how he would have liked to have had "more time" to train; psycholgical that is. He mentioned this as well after he lost to Douglas in an interview right next to Ray Leonard saying Ray shouldn't have lost either but he didn't stay active like Old School fighters. He also mentioned how he was better at being instructed than listeining to himself {Bruno post-fight}. A reporter also noted that he took off 40 pounds; WTF. Rooney didn't allow him to go higher than 15; it helped keeping him active; Mike was prone to being the fat kid; look at him now, sad. Rooney wasn't perfect either from what I heard. Not sure if it was rumors but Rooney started to slack off some as well.

    Compare with this:

So, can you pick which team was better for him: Catskill Clan or Don Clan?

Tyson's an idiot. He's not ******, but he's an idiot. He knew the History of the Sport better than anyone and he chose to throw it away.

I did find it interesting to hear Jose Torres tell Mike that if Don King can make him a better offer than Cayton, he should go with King. WTF Jose.

Tyson later desribed King's house like the movie with Tom Hanks: "The Money Pit."

Bruno I think was right after Spinks so it is only one fight with Don King. Don isn't a magician; he can't screw up somebody that quick; not even Tyson.

Tyson at 20: You can hear the devil laugh in the back ready to take Tyson's soul

This was still part of the Bruno fight; right after. It did see like Mike was starting to change. Look at him jumping around too. I noticed at least by the Spinks fight that Tyson was starting to twitch his head/neck like a pitbull...it usually happens from stress if it wasn't done on purpose.

Stylewise, the Tyson who fought Ruddock for the second time looked nothing like the one who knocked Berbick into the next century.

No head movement. Limited footwork. Great lunging haymakers replacing the murderous combinations that tore the life out of his opponents.

Like many other boxers who've gone the same way (think of Hamed) he became obsessed with his own power. Why bother expending time and effort on the fundamentals of boxing when you're Mike Tyson, whose every punch is the hammerpunch of Thor?

Funny thing is Tyson knew better but chose to listen to idiots which makes Tyson....

When Tyson was younger, and with Rooney, that someone will be able to take his shot and it is his job to prepare as a boxer to win. He also talked about the importance of training.

                  Boy, how things change.

Floyd Patterson said it best: Tyson needs to remember what got him there.

Messed up seeing him back in the day and ended up like this

His career and life just went downhill after he left Rooney and when Jacobs died, then he left Cayton which was his last link to the old team, shame really. Interesting to hear Torres actually told him to go with King, wouldn't have expected that.

Rooney had or even has alcohol problems, he's pretty fat himself now.

I didn't expect it either with Torres, but I saw it in a video; not sure which one; but it was Torres saying he told Mike. I was like "WTF"

Cayton and Rooney. Jacobs died and that was the end according to many. After Cus died, Jimmy was next in line for being Mike's best friend; the person he went to. Cayton was a great manager according to Rooney but it was Jim that talked to Mike like buddies. Cayton was all business. Cayton was the one that set-up a trust for Mike worth millions...this was the trust that Robin went after. Nobody could touch it but Mike...not even Cayton and Rooney. Much different than when Don took over.

Rooney: I heard he liked ******** and drinking...but it got way out of hand after Mike left according to sources and rumors. It would be interesting to know all the facts; what's true, what's not.

That whole group was kind of "off.": Rooney, Atlas and Tyson. Crazy-smart-flawed people. And Cus was a bit off as well from what stories say.
