Oscar/Manny: How is 147 a disadvantage for Manny?

i hear people arguing that pacquiao is way out of his class because of the weight (147) he is fighting at...someone with boxing experience or knowledge please explain to me how will he look any different (speed/power) than his last fight which was at 135 but Manny weighed in at 147 on fight night...

It's not just the weight, it's everything else. Height, reach, power, durability etc etc. Manny is used to taking shots from FWs and SFWs...

so theoritically he should look as sharp and fast
as he did against david diaz...

if he comes in at 147.

he has to weigh in under 147. what if he weighs in at 147 but in the ring is 155 or so. he could be sluggish. it could be bad weight. you never know.

i say he comes in at the same size as the diaz fight and just not cut weight. don't know if that's what's gonna happen though.

That is a huge jump for a little man. Even if he weighs in the 150s for fight night it isn't going to be right for him. There is NO WAY De La Hoya could make 135 and Manny still could. De La Hoya is the MUCH bigger man and you will see it makes a difference come Dec.

What do you think De La Hoya will weigh unofficially at?

                    Probably around 160.
