Very interesting article. Especially since Big Roy said on 24/7 that Roy looked to be in great shape and that Calzaghe had nothing for him if he was training right. He didn't look like the same fighter that fought Tito. Then again, he wasn't in there with someone coming up to 170 that hadn't fought in years either.
It's just tough for Roy's fans b/c we all knew and remember what once was and it's an easy thing to start coming up with excuses. Bottom line, Roy doesn't need to fight anymore.

Roy Sr. might have a point that Roy Jones may not be discipline enough in his training and may have needed to go back to the basics and train the the way he use to. Roy Sr. stated that his methods were extreme but effective because he created a fighter that would and wanted to be the best with the condition to master the sweet science which is too hit and not be hit. BUT at 39 years old this does not have any meaning because Roy Jones Jr. does not believe in himself which equals to him not being motivated to perform to the best of his abilities. Roy Sr. should retire his son before he becomes a journeyman in the sport he once dominated !!!!!!!

Sr. has a good point u need to push your fighters and not be there to say YES, you need to be mentally and physically fit. His training regimen that was shown on 24/7 was your basic method just to loose weight, there was no desire to push your body to the limit.

Hopkins is right when he said he needs to hang up the gloves. Jones has been Overrated his whole career, and to say he is the best thing since Ali is mocking Ali.
