Yet, his team are calling out a fighter from the 168 division? That makes sense.

Well considering Kessler is calling out everyone else at 175 (Calzaghe, Hopkins), why wouldn't Dawson call him out?

Like i have said, if Dawson was forced to fight Cloud by the IBF then he would, but Cloud is the last thing that Chad is worried about right now. In fact, I'm not sure if Cloud has even said anything about fighting Dawson, and i heard from a source that his mangement is not ready to take the fight at this moment.

Dawson is the light heavyweight champion, and he and his promoter have made it clear that he will not go below 175. Another thing is that Dawson is not pushing for Kessler, Kessler was a name for a possibly fight that was thrown around the same way Calzaghe, Jones, Hopkins ect was. Making the weight is not a problem to Dawson, its just that Dawson doesn't want to go below light heavy mainly because he could lose both of his titles by not defending them.
Fair enough, but either way you twist it, Dawson is the one who's calling out Kessler, not the other way around.

        1. Kessler is a SMW champion. Seems he caught a bad rap for defending his title. Why is it okay for Dawson to protect his interests, when Kessler isn't allowed? If Dawson can't go to SMW because he's afraid of losing his titles, then Kessler can't go to LH, because he might lose his. That works both ways.

The way I see it, Kessler and Dawson are in the same situation; they're both just below the top guys in recognition (and rigthly so), and they're both having a hard time getting those guys in the ring (too much risk, too little reward). Based on that, a fight between them would seem to make sense. It is much easier to make sense of it for the bigger man, though. He will be the one holding all the advantages; his weight, his hometurf etc.

Eh? What does Calzaghe have to do with anything? I'm talking about Kessler and Dawson. How did you manage to find Calzonie in that mate? Got him on the brain have you?

Dawson and Kessler are the same size as well.

Basically the only other possible fight for Kessler from what I know (unless Kessler's management has something big planned) is the WBA number 1 ranked contender Gusmyl Perdomo, so it's either a big risk or no risk at all.

Because when you call someone out, you're prepared to go to them.

So then if Kessler is prepared to go to LHW for Hopkins/Calzaghe rematch, why not Dawson?
