bernard hopkins cannot beat chad dawson.

plain and simple.bernard hopkins has lost disputed fights against guys that are athletic, with handspeed, footwork, and adequate defense(jones jr, taylor, cal).those are all attributes dawson possesses.hopkins is not johnson.he does not try to walk you down wear you out.hopkins game is to pick and choose his shots from round 1 to round 12.he's totally different than johnson.
I'll admit i though pav would ko hopkins, simply cause i believed a couple of notions many believed as well. i thought hopkins didn't have the legs to do what he did anymore,as he showed vs winky, and cal. i thought he lost a step.
i thought he was old, and over the hill. i was wrong.but there is something we must understand, chad dawson is not pavlik either.he's chad dawson.

While I agree that the speed and footwork of Dawson would give Hopkins trouble, I don't think Dawson is experienced enough to deal with Hopkins' ring smarts and craftsmanship. It'd be an interesting fight, if you ask me Hopkins should fight Calzaghe again, and the winner of that fight gets Dawson, who should take either a Johnson rematch or another decent fight in the meantime.

I think you're wrong about this one too. Dawson has fast hands, but his footwork and defense isn't all that great. He'll be open to bernards right hand and hopkins lateral movement will confuse the **** out of the young 26 year old dawson. Plus dawson is kinda chinny I think he could get stunned a couple times early which might make him too cautious.

Hopkins has had the most trouble with slick elusive fighters imo, dawson aint that slick!

Taylor wasn't experienced either. No time for rematches if Joe wants out.

His defense improved in the Tarver fight. I doubt he'll be confused and he's quick enough to win.

              I disagree.

Dawson is talented but has never faced anyone as skilled as Hopkins. Hopkins defense, footwork, ring smarts, right hand and counters will trouble Dawson.

I think Hopkins power and dirty tactics could trouble Dawson also.

taylor's defense is bull****, and cal's isn't the greatest.

Can't say Hopkins "can't beat" anyone. Hopkins has proved that he's capable of doing pretty much anything.

I definitely think he'd have a lot of trouble with Dawson, his hand speed, and his combinations would be tough for Hopkins. But Hopkins is capable of freezing anyone up with his style. It's just impossible to count Hopkins out of any fight, he's too smart.

Hopkins was a middleweight in the Taylor fights. If you watch his fights up at light heavy you notice he has a better workrate.

As for the Calzaghe fight Dawson does not have the workrate, movement or chin that Calzaghe has.
