What hotel is he in? Oh and if he can't eat in the week before a fight on thirty quid a day he needs to rethink his meal options.

Put it this way: His hotel is paid, so he's probably getting breakfast. So he then has to buy lunch which he can do easily on that budget and have a dinner option. He doesn't need to pay twenty pounds on a dinner for himself.

Also business calls is the right way for a fighter of his stature to travel. I'm sure Oscar, Ricky and Floyd don't travel business class, but... well he ain't Oscar, Ricky or Floyd.

What's his purse for the fight? As has been pointed out the expenses are expenses. There is no rule preventing him from supplementing his expenses or from upgrading his hotel.

I don't think he's going to be in a bedsit at Kings Cross but I'm pretty sure he'll be in a modest three star chain hotel.

There's a video in this thread with Haye saying he stayed in that very hotel for the Maccarinelli fight. So it's good enough for him. Not like he's putting himself above Monte.

Americans do things big, and British hotels are smaller I'm afraid. I reckon it's still probably aight and he's just experiencing a culture shock. Guy makes out he's here to fight and is roughing it up, but wants to be in the Ritz, WTF?

As for money's he has some points, but surely they can sort it out, the fights going ahead now so..

If Barrett is worrying about hotels and food allowances then he has his priorities in the wrong place!........

It's crystal clear many of you have never travelled for business, let alone travelled out of the country for business.

He's fighting a heavyweight fight. What's he supposed to do, go shopping looking for bargains at the grocery?

He should be focusing, training, getting room service, and eating quality food.

Minor expenses like cabs to and from the airport, training facilities, necessities.

It's a business trip and considering the stakes of the business he's taking part in, he should be treated first class all the way. Flights, accomodation, quality meals.

Don't know what's so hard to fathom about that. 50 goes quick daily when you're travelling in an unfamiliar place.

I never would pay my own money on a business trip and I don't know one person that would. And I sure as hell wouldn't stay in a ****ty hotel if my business involved lots of money and me to be at my peak physically.

Minor inconveniences become bigger distractions that way.

Necessities add up especially considering the stakes. Tape, cabs, calling home to talk to a trainer, or motivational stuff.

                      Some people seriously don't understand...

I think he's right to complain.

You never hear this kind of thing about Germany. They have a long record of treating guests well, and paying them well. They just used to judge fights badly.

I can't see why Haye's people can't do the same.
