For all of you who call Roy Jones Jr Overrated.

I rate him ahead of Moore, what Moore did is impressive, but more because of age than actual success at the weight.

At 75 I think Charles, Tunney and Spinks are in their own class.

I can't possibly rate him ahead of Moore. Moore had multiple wins at 75 over Maxim and the awesome Howard Johnson, not to mention tough outs like Billy Smith, Bob Satterfield, Jimmy Bivins, Curtis Sheppard, Holman Williams, Cocoa Kid, Llloyd Marshall...not knocking Roy, because he fought most of who was there at 75, but the gap in quality competition and wins is laughable. Do I think Roy's speed makes a fight with Moore interesting? Could he even win? Sure. But no way in hell he rates in front of Moore (and no way Tunney rates ahead of Moore when Tunney would not fight integrated fights).

Robjr: I see threads like this all the time. Under and overrated etc. The authors almost never define what they see as the bar. What do you see as the correct rating(s)? That should be the first point made so that people know exactly what they're even arguing about...otherwise, you spent a hell of a long time writing a post to start what could be a productive thread without even defining what you're talking about in the first place.

Im mainly defining that alot of his opponents were far from nobodies. he just made them look like bums. Thats what I got across with the post. Telling about lots of his opponents.

kid, this is a good thread but you don't have to defend roy, for most of us on the forum. when i saw RJJ fight in the 90's i knew him and james toney were the most naturally talented fighters i've seen in their primes, you and i may know this but it won't make the haters believe it.
