Boxing may be on the decline in the U.S. but not in Europe. Europe has really embraced the sport and is in it's own 'golden age' like the U.S. was in the early to mid part of the 20th century....

          Yea boxing is dying alright.

And MMA dominates ESPN as someone said. That's why Boxing has its own header on espn.com and MMA is stuck between Lacross and Horse Racing under the "MORE" menu.

          Please quote that person.

His loss was to the former UFC HEAVYWEIGHT champion who happens to be a black belt in Jui Jit Su.

Brock is also the NCAA 2000 wrestling champ.

Im guessing you forgot about Jameel Mcline who spent 5 years in prison and had no amatuer boxing experience yet fought for world titles 4 different times

I'm not even talkin bout MMA guys goin to boxing. I'm talkin bout football and basketball. What will happen when money leaves those sports?

Anyways, Dana is just trying to make headlines IMO. About the other Slice/Petruzzelli topic. I'm not just talkin bout Slice. I'm talking about Liddell, who was the face of the UFC, obviously lost every real fight. Look at Rampage, Brock Lesnar, etc.

Rampage just got whooped up by a product of TUF and the UFC...

it seems to me boxing is as strong as ever in europe, mexico, pr etc. its in america that it seems to have taken a back seat to mma. i know in canada theres no boxing buzz, when i went to montreal for the bute vs. andrade bout, now that was a fight town, but imo they were mostly mma type fans. but fans are fans and that crowd was crazy and they were all there for boxing which is great.

that same day i read two major national news papers in canada and neither of their sports pages mentioned that there was a world title fight taking place in montreal that evening . . . it was a real shame.

Boxing has been around for hundreds of years.

UFC has been around since 1993.
