Yeah Toney really did like watching his old school fighters.

James Toney's cruiser and heavyweight days are but a mere sidenote in his first balot hall of fame career.
He was an amazing fighter when in his prime.
Any true boxing fan that saw him fight in his prime would give him that respect.
He ALWAYS came to fight, and he fought anyone, anywhere, anytime.
He fought 23 times from 1992 through 1995, including fights against
Jones, Griffin, McCallum twice, Barkley, and a host of other pretty tough guys, like Tim Littles, who might have had a better career, had he not gotten so brutally knocked out after cutting JT bad with a headbutt.
        JT absolutely ruined him.

Sure, he had problems with wieght and motivation at times, but who cares? He's a master of his craft, and there's not many like him left.
Even a fat blob JT is fun to watch.

Lets talk about the wins that get overlooked.

He came back from a shaky start, and beat a very good fighter in Reggie Johnson. He knocked out Charles Williams late in another closely contested fight. Charles being another good fighter, who held an IBF belt at 175.

One of his most impressive victories was against Tim Littles. A number one contender who gave Frankie Liles his first loss. He sustained one of the worst cuts you will ever see, and knocked Littles out when it looked like the fight would be stopped any minute. Littles was never the same after that fight.

The best inside fighter I've seen.
He'd stand in front of you and make you missed.
                Love his trash talks also..
                James Toney is the man.

Outside the ring he's Jack Johnson all over. Even gave Jirov the trademark Jack Johnson wave at the end of the 1st round like Johnson gave to Tommy Burns in their Title fight. And when he also talks to his corner when he's getting hit with chopping shots on his hard-head is Johnson-esque! LOL
Yeah, Lights out is definitely a throw back. Jack Johnson clowning his opposition in the manner that he did is for sure channeled by Toney lol, I did notice that from time to time especially in the Holyfield fight.
