    Good post Clegg.

The only thing I will say is that I did not attach a great deal of value to Lennox's win over Vitali in the first place.

Having said that the notion that Calzaghe's resume would be tainted by not rematching Bernard is ridiculous in my view.

This notion that Lennox was on the verge of being KO'd gives me the ****s! No one knows what would've happened if that fight continued! Yes, Lennox had **** all in the tank by the time the fight was stopped but Vitali was hurt and was hardly bouncing off the walls when his eye was cut to bits.

Surely you judge someone by how good they are, not their age? The latter affects the former, but it's not the only factor.

Hopkins was 43, but at that age he will still able to dominate Pavlik, and he wasn't far removed from his wins over Tarver and Wright. He was and is still one of the best fighters in the world.

say what the **** about bernards age, fact is hes still in the top 3-4 p4p, that has to say something.

calzaghe won over hopkins by outworking him over the course of the fight. the only reason people say hopkins may have won it is because he made the fight ugly as hell. had he actually FOUGHT, then maybe the outcome would have been more one sided to the victor.

lewis on the other hand was getting his ass handed to him, say what you want but even by the time the fight was stopped vitali was still laying an ass beating on lewis. lewis may have the W on his record, but vitali was the winner that night. instead of giving vitali an immediate rematch (as originally planned), he opted to retire.

Lewis got lucky by opening up that cut, if it wern't for the cut he would of lost that fight, probably by KO considering some of the shots he had already taken. Iron chin or not you will go down eventually if you take enough flush power shots like lewis was taking.
