energy that cotto wasted on his punch output.

margarito's faces wasn't swollen for no reason.

yea, but necessary output. anything less marg would have been all over him. cotto needs to get to a level where he can do that the entire fight, maybe then he can beat marg, i dont he can stop marg though.

You're asking Cotto to be something he's not.

I think it's just a bad style match up for Cotto, I don't think he can beat Margarito. I'd favor Cotto over all the other top welters though. Props to him for being man enough for fighting Tony

maybe, but its just my opinion on what cotto needs to do to pull off the victory. i feel the next fight cotto will be much better conditioned.

I hear ya. I just get the feeling that, for the biggest fight of his career, he got himself into the best possible condition he could be. Just my take.

Cotto needs to stay off the ropes and cling a bit more, If he can do that then he would have the necessary energy to sustain a 12 round assault from Margarito.

The fact that Margarito is soooo slow would help cotto get a decision.

Well the thing is most fans dont realize that Cotto is a boxer puncher, not a KO artist or a slugger. But since he has been in a few wars and got the better of it, they think he will do the same with everyfighter. The thing is like some other poster said, he met his match, and he can no longer rely on his power and stregh to bully Margarito, thats not going to happen. He needs to elevate his game to beat margarito. Thats what great fighters do, they elevate their game when need it, Like pacquiao, Calzaghe,JMM, ect. Since Margarito is way bigger than Cotto, Cotto needs to press a little more, be more on the inside I know is risky but thats what he needs to do. Be on the inside, Hit Margarito to the body and circle away from him, and redo and redo and again. He doesnt need to get to the ropes or like some suggested that he needs to fight a la Calderon. He just needs to focus, pile points and if the KO comes well so be it, but think of a 12 round fight and focus on a UD.

                    I respectfully disagree.

Miguel Cotto didn't try to power or bully Margarito. He tried to outbox him. The times he stood and fought were because he had no choice.

No !!!I said that he bullied his other opponents and people think he can do the same to Margarito, Maybe i didnt explained well. But since he bullied every other oponent, and didnt have to box he got that warrior mentallity, and margarito made him think twice about making it a war. But your Right Cotto tried to Outbox Margarito
