That is a long time in the sport for Roy. Look when he started.
thats kind of like the truth. but because it comes off as an excuse, people throw it out the window and look at things face value.

Retirement doesn't pay the bills. Roy wants more farm-animals, and to give his family a very beautiful life.

I wanna disagree with me too but when you weigh it up, it's hard not to pick Hopkins.

If Roy had done the sensible thing and retired after the first Tarver fight then we wouldn't be talking about this right now but those losses coupled with the fact that Bernard has picked at some terrific wins, i'll go with Hopkins.

I'm stictly talking about Hopkins-Jones. They're much closer to each other in greatness, age, and fought similar opponents between 2002-2008. And Hopkins did much better and he is older.

But remember, Roy was good up until he came back down. Unlike Hopkins, Roy moved up past middle-weight all the way to Heavyweight, although the HW was just one fight so we should concentrate more on the move up to Light-Heavyweight.

And like Roy, Tarver came back down and suffered the same fate...which Hopkins took advantage of.

Hopkins best wins will be Pavlik, Tito, and Oscar. One Middleweight, one Welter, and a fighter that started at lightweight. Do you really think any of them would beat Roy in his Prime?

I do give him credit for his other wins at Middleweight, like Johnson and Echols, but Roy was fighting against bigger fighters.

The difference is, most fighters can't afford to retire at a young age of 32 because they're not making Delahoya money. In that case, it's better for your health to have Hopkins's abilities and never truely lose a fight or get embarassed.

hop never had the gifts a roy or a floyd did.floyd had the gifts, and the schooling hop had as well.hop has crazy intangibles.nothing he does blows you away.but he's solid in every department.good chin, good punches(jab, hooks, crosses, straight lefts),solid power, decent footwork, well schooled with dirty tactics(headbutting, holding and hitting), good defense, ok speed.
