Sometimes you gain more plaudits in the manner of your loss than in victory.

Truth be told, in actuality they are both pretty similar in terms of how proven they are. Both are Champions who have fought a series of good contenders. Kessler has stepped up to the biggest fight out of the two of them and after a strong performance was proven to not be up to the task. Dawson hasnt stepped up to a truly world class opponent yet. Only one of them has faced a top P4P fighter and that was Kessler. The only difference between the two is that Kessler fought a lot of tough contenders all around the world and Dawson has fought a lot of tough contenders in America and frankly that carries a hell of a lot more weight than ANYTHING else when it comes to many of the posters on here.
