    God you're ******.

He made him look like a nobody! A sparring partner if you will.

Peak roy beat Calzaghe "lionel richie punching excuse me slapping ass" on his way to a sparring match.

I feel that it is a shame that Joe Calzaghe was in his late thirties when he finally faced the great Roy Jones Jr., as was Roy Jones Jr.

Would have been great to see them figth each other in their primes.

When a man is trying to knock you out, it is difficult to be gentlemanly.

He deserves credit, no doubt. He might be shot and past it now, but in his prime he was an absolutely immense fighter with amazing skills. He is 39 now as well so nobody can expect too much of him. I have said this on 2-3 threads and I will say it again, Joe did outclass him and I wanted Joe to win... but if the fight happened when both fighters were in there prime, it could and probably would have gone the other way.

As for respect, both fighters where respectful before and after the fight, Joe did a bit of show boating, yeah... but you gotta realize that it is exactly what Jones used to do to his opponents, Joe wanted to go out on a high. Anyway I give Jones all of the credit and respect he deserves!

like them both great fighters - would say jones is slightly better due to the fact he could do things that i dont think calzaghe could thats not bashing joe just the way i see it.

                    Spot on.

No true boxing fan (unless they hate Brits or hate Americans) could argue with either of those statements.
