    No question about it.

Oddly enough, I was never really a fan of his showboating, but damn, what a fighter. Speed like I've never seen.

The fact that Roy Jones Jr. is one of the greatest fighters that ever walked this planet is veritable.

For me, his greatest ever wins came against John Ruiz and Antonio Tarver.

I would have to agree with that.

Obviously Tarver is a very good fighter and to win the Heavyweight Championship of the World after being a middleweight world champion is truly incredible and will never be replicated again.

what i love about roy is his ambition. he could have stayed at SMW or LHW but he wanted something more than that, he strive for more constantly, he pushed himself to his limits.

roy is like that guy who you know is great at videogames who is unbeatable when he has the same team as his opponent. but roy knows that he would win so he purposefully will pick a inferior team just to test himself and put things on a level playing field. he could have been the other kid, you know the one who always plays with the same team and beats everyone while never really looking for a challenge.

people like that are what is needed in boxing, ppl who want to push themselves and see just how far their ability will take them.

mayweather and RJJ are two of the most talented fighters we will ever see but it is RJJ who wanted to be the crowd pleaser, the one who ppl talked of fondly, the one who kids tried to emulate when they were in the gym and grown-ups paid to watch on TV. some fighters like mayweather will be respected, some like RJJ will be admired. there is a difference.

            * i dont mean no disprespect to floyd, its just that him and RJJ are the only two fighters worth comparing as they are so similar in their ability and raw talent.

He has nothing to worry about, Roy Jones will always be known as a better fighter than all the bums who beat him put together.

Toney repeated the feat against the same opponent shortly after Roy did it although he was stripped off his title.

I think in the future we will see many fighters from the lower weight divisions try to become heavyweight champions as long as we have title holders such as Valuev around.
