  • Gotta Love All The Accountants We Have In Here...

Going through multiple threads, I have seen about 500 posts regarding "Dawson does not bring enough money to the table."

This is why this sport is going down the tubes. What ever happened to the best available fighting each other? It is not like HBO and Setanta would not gobble up that fight in a heartbeat. The fight would make damn good money because of the significance of it being the best old fighter against the best young one.

Dawson is a fighter who has proved he can hang with any Lt. Heavyweight. He can be a stylistic nightmare for anyone, but also has some cracks in his armor when he takes his little breaks etc. This makes the fight intriguing.

Real boxing fans would want to see this fight. It may not be a superfight, but true fans of the sport would at least want to see it, instead of suddenly becoming accountants and looking for excuses as to why it should not.

The best available should always fight each other!!

hehe they banned the word c.h.i.n.k.s so I had to replace it with cracks.

calzaghe is closing in on forty, jones too, popkins is there already.
these guys are at the end, let dawson make his name off fighting
guys in his own era, not just taking out guys at the end of theres.

maybe dawson is the future.....the rest are the past.

It would be a great fight but then the Slapper of Wales has always been a protected species.

Dawson wasn't even mentioned until Pavlik got his ass handed to him by Hopkins. Now he's King ****?

Well I guess so. He looked damn good against Tarver also.

Can you name a better opponent for Joe if he decides to fight again? I certainly cannot.

i wouldn't be so quick to pit dawson in a fight with calzaghe, he had to get a gift decision in order to get past glenn johnson, he did look good against tarver but i've always found tarver to more lucky than good.

the thing is this, we've seen fighters who get rushed into stuff to quick against guys with a **** ton of experience, just like lacy with calzaghe, or pavlik hopkins, just for recent fight. dawson lost in my opinion and many others opinion to glenn johnson, who used pressure, a high workrate, and his experience to win in the court of public opinion. joe would do the same thing basically, just i think that there would be a higher work rate with calzaghe, and the experience would definitely be a huge handicap for dawson.

dawson needs some more experience if you want my honest opinion. if he were to fight calzaghe, i would have to say, that it would be the same calzaghe M.O. at work here, fight a guy that is past his prime or fight a guy who isnt on the level yet. just like hamed did his whole career, until he was retired by barerra......

The whole "He doesn't bring enough money to the table" arguement is bull****, I agree, because Joe could sell out the Millenium Stadium against anybody. (Manfredo anyone?)

                  BUT...

Who has Dawson beaten to earn a shot at Joe?

Tarver was an old man and he got a gift against Johnson.

Dawson is not the fighter you want him to be, and he is no match for Joe.

Joe has nothing left to prove, and can retire from the sport at the very top.

Amen bro .......In all truthness, Joe really doesn't have any other options at LHW........I think he'll take his chances with Hopkins again rather than fight Chad. Then they'll down play Chad's value as an excuse it's an EVIL business and we all know what the root of evil is.
